New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Skate Mountain Records announces the newest addition to Jimmy Lumpkin & The Revival, guitarist Duane Betts, son of the legendary Allman Brothers guitar player Dickey Betts, formerly of the band Dawes. The signing comes just in time for Betts to perform with Jimmy Lumpkin & The Revival at the SouthSounds
Music and Arts Festival in Mobile,
Alabama on April 9th and at the Hangout
Music Festival in Gulf Shores,
Alabama on May 19th.
Over the last 10 years Duane Betts has amassed an impressive musical resume, performing with many notable artists including Jack Johnson, G. Love, Kid Rock, and Phil Lesh. Lending his guitar skills to platinum rockers Puddle of Mudd, making headlines with California bad boys White Starr and touring the world with his father's band, Dickey Betts & Great Southern are just some of the miles logged by the younger Betts before joining forces with Jimmy Lumpkin & The Revival.
The band has also added Scott Frock, Brad Walker, and John Ramm to The Revival. Known collectively as The Crescent City Horn Stars and noted for their time with Sturgill Simpson's band, the trio complete the lineup alongside Jimmy Lumpkin on vocals and acoustic guitar and harmonica, John Keuler on bass, Jacob Hall on keys, Morris Barosa on rhythm guitar, and Chris
Ozuna on drums.
With over 20 years of professional trumpet playing under his belt, Scott Frock has become a staple in the New Orleans music scene, specializing in all types of music from jazz to rock, country, funk, blues, R&B, Hip Hop and more. He has played with national touring acts The O'Jays, The Temptations, and Gladys Knight as well as with unique musical projects such as Jazz
Poets Society, Marc Broussard, Adrian Duke and Samson Trinh's Upper East Side Big Band.
For saxophonist Brad Walker, the road to success was an uphill climb - but he's made quick work of it as one of country music's fastest rising stars, ascending from his jazz studies at LSU to becoming a main stage performer in a half-decade's time. In New Orleans, a city brimming with talent, it's safe to assume that Walker hasn't succeeded based on chops alone.
Calling himself a "professional sideman," Walker prioritizes collaboration, emphasizing the importance of following what is best for the music and learning to leave your ego at the door.
