TORONTO, Canada (Knacker Official Website) - On October 8th, Toronto's favorite noise-pop band, Knacker, will be hosting a party at Club 279 to celebrate the release of their 2nd full-length album, entitled "picture | show.". Joining Knacker on-stage at the Yonge street club will be a stellar lineup of Toronto's indie-rock community.

Following the critical success of Knacker's 2002 debut full length album, "Snapshot", the band has had a constant presence in the Ontario club scene, including stoking crowds for the likes of High Holy Days. Always prolific, by early 2004 the band had accumulated dozens of new songs, with an album's worth of truly amazing material that was crying out to be recorded.

"The Songs are all written by either Pete (vocals/bass) or myself, but Jefrey with 1F (guitarist and lead shit-disturber) and Chris (drums) are instrumental in fleshing out the arrangements and really help to make them all sound like "Knacker". It's really hard to describe in words alone, but as soon as you listen to a couple of songs, you totally understand what I mean by that!" says Dean Marino (vocals/guitar). "We needed to record these songs badly - most are already staples of our live set and we were itching to commit them to record so we could move on" cites Dean.

The rest of the band were equally keen to put out a new record. "We were at a point where we kept writing great new songs, but we couldn't bump the A-level material that we'd been playing, 'cause we hadn't even formally put it out yet!" explains Jefrey with 1F. "We were like a hot chick pregnant with twins, and 3 weeks overdue." Eschewing an outside producer this time, and with the full support of his bandmates, Dean stepped in to both record and produce the band. "Although we enjoyed working with a producer in the past, we felt like we wanted to bring this one into the world on our own", continues Marino. "I have my own pre-production studio, and it's really amazing what you can do in that sort of environment to get ready for the sessions at Chemical. We were so ready, it was totally natural and effortless to capture the songs just the way we wanted. The record sounds amazing!"

The result of their labour pains was the birth of a robust and radio-friendly set of hooky and boisterous indie rock, which the band is releasing on Jefrey with 1F's own label, Landed Music. "Shit, we've done it all on our own so far - why stop now?" explains Jefrey with 1F. What about the rumors that "picture | show." has a twin? "Totally true. There's no way we can wait even 6 more months - album No 3 is definitely waiting in the wings." Chris adds.

Knacker will be performing songs from their new album at 10:30pm on Friday, October 8th at Club 279. Also on the bill will be Maybrick, Clothes Make The Man, and Fuscia. A copy of Knacker's new album "picture | show." will be included with every $10 admission.
