New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Ben Nichols from the punk rock stalwarts Lucero has teamed up with Vet Forward for the release of a live acoustic version of "To My Dearest Wife" from the band's 2018 album Among The Ghosts. Vet Forward, an organization designed to help raise money for larger veteran charities and programs, chooses one artist a month to perform a song and highlight a charity of their choice. Nichols will be raising awareness for Disabled American Veterans with the special performance.

"Lucero is lucky to have a lot of veterans and active military folks as fans," says Nichols. "I've met a lot of them at shows and it means a lot to me hearing what they think of our songs. I don't do enough sometimes to bring attention to causes that need more support, but when this opportunity came up I felt it was the least I could do. Thank you all."

Founded by U.S. Navy Submarine Veteran Kyle Evanchuck in 2017, Vet Forward has not one mission, but many. Their goals change with the needs of the veterans.

"I started Vet Forward as a way to showcase two things I care a lot about: Veterans and music," says Evanchuck. "Instead of starting my own charity for Veterans I felt like I could get a group of Vets together and work on showcasing musicians and helping raise funds for already existing Veteran charities at the same time. Music was so important to me while I was in the Navy, especially out to sea, and I know so many Veterans who share my passion for bands and live music. When I transitioned out of the Navy I decided to start Vet Forward and begin a monthly Artist Spotlight for musicians. A singer/band will record a song on video and allow us to share it on our platform while highlighting a new Veteran charity each month. Our hope is to create some exposure to new ways of helping Veterans while enjoying new music each month."
