Currently residing in Boston, Marika is passionately working on a wide variety of projects as a composer, pianist and orchestrator.
MRG Recordings President Dino Malito said, "We are pleased to announce Marika's debut release on MRG Recordings and look forward to working with her unique talents as a composer and pianist."
Her
September 10th album release on MRG Recordings "Impressions", recorded by Yuki Ohnishi and mixed & mastered by

Sofia Ynes Gonzalez Pikul (flute), Nick Quattrocchi (clarinet), Yuki Nakajima (violin), Helen Kim (violin), Samantha A. Gillogly (viola) and Sassan Haghighi (cello).
A native of Japan, classical music studies for Marika began at the age of three. A true virtuoso, in addition to her prowess on the piano, she also mastered the violin and French horn and performed on these instruments for several years. Continuing her truly meteoric rise, she began studying composition at the age 18 at Shobi
Music College in Tokyo.
Marika made a name for herself early on with her compositions being heard on Japanese national radio and featured prominently on a major TV series. So impressed were they, Universal Music, Japan signed Marika.
Strongly influenced and fascinated by classical impressionism and film music, Marika's musical and creative passion also includes new age music. She says, "I truly believe that music has the profound power to heal and change people's lives."
In 2009, Marika came to United States to study film scoring at the Berklee College Of Music. Virtually an immediate sensation, she has scored several inspiring, independent short films including "The Arctic Light", the acclaimed TSO Photography's time-lapse film (https://vimeo.com/24456787); a short film about a summer enrichment program "Horizons: 50 Years" (https://vimeo.com/61283260), and other award-winning independent shorts including "Finding Ambrosias".
"The Arctic Light" is featured in the Australian TV commercial "Make Tomorrow Better." It's also currently used on the Norwegian Tourism Board's official website (https://www.visitnorway.com).
