ROCO - Home Of Houston's Marvelous 40 Piece Chamber Orchestra Presents "Remarkable" September 27th & 28th

New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Experience the extraordinary as ROCO's milestone 20th season opens with "REMARKABLE" featuring the full 40-piece chamber orchestra. Three world premieres plus a new twist on an out of this world classic presented at the Miller Outdoor Theatre on September 27th and The Church of St. John the Divine on September 28th.
Hosted by guest emcee Fred Child of American Public Media's Performance Today. Under the dynamic direction of Artistic Partner Mei-Ann Chen Friday's concert will feature the ROCO commissioned world premiere of John Wineglass's Cityscapes in a version for chamber orchestra enhanced with immersive, panoramic video of Houston by BEND Productions and Houston First. On Saturday, Mark Buller's powerful ROCO commissioned John the Revelator pays tribute to ROCO's home venue of The Church of St. John the Divine. Experience the world premiere of the ROCO commissioned Constellations by Viet Cuong, ROCO's Season 20 Composer in Residence spotlighting "constellations" of ROCO musicians as soloists within each movement. Plus Gustav Holst's vivid tour of our solar system The Planets completes the galactic journey featured in a new rescoring by Jim Stephenson with stunning original animation by James Templeton inspired by astrology and mythology.
Admission is free for the Sept. 27th event and reserved tickets will be available through Miller Outdoor Theatre's website starting September 26th. Providing up to 6 hours of childcare under the supervision of certified and bonded childcare professionals the program is available during all of ROCO's In Concert performances at The Church of St. John the Divine.
