NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - As the music industry and fans worldwide mourn the death of Alice in Chains singer Layne Staley, who was found dead at his Seattle home on Friday (April 19), the talented singer's peers, such as Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, are sharing their thoughts and memories.

"Layne and I became good friends on the 1993 Lollapalooza tour," says Morello in a statement issued Monday (April 22) afternoon. "I will always remember him as the bright, funny, and amazingly talented singer who got up there every hot summer day in a gorgeous suit and sang like an angry angel. We would laugh until we split our sides arguing about who was 'more metal.' I hope now he is at peace."

Other artists who have spoken out already include Mark Lanegan and the remaining members of Alice in Chains.
