New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ PLA Media) Drum roll please…And the winner is… Jimmy White triumphed over
Steven Tyler and
Michael Buble when he took home the coveted AC/Hot AC "Male Artist of The Year" award at last week's New
Music Awards, sponsored by New
Music Weekly magazine, held in Los Angeles, CA.
The awards were historical for White as he was the most nominated artist in the history of The New
Music Awards. White's five nominations placed him alongside the likes of
Adele and Colbie Caillat. The final winners were based on votes from special polling data compiled from radio stations, their programmers, industry executives and fans. In addition to major and independent artists, the leading trade publication also honored record labels, radio stations, programmers and industry professionals. Heading towards its sixth year in publication, New
Music Weekly boasts over 500 reporting radio stations in the genres of Top40, Adult Contemporary, Country, College, Jazz and Alternative/Rock.
"Throughout this whole experience, I have been blown away by the wonderful recognition I have received from my peers and the music industry," gratefully expresses White. "It is quite humbling to even be considered alongside
Michael Buble and Steven Tyler, let alone win!"
Jimmy White's 26-song, double disc album Two Cities, which he recorded in Nashville, TN and Buffalo, NY has been receiving rave reviews since its
September 2011 release. The album is available for download through all major online distributors and in stores worldwide.
"Two Cities, a double album by multi-award winning Jimmy White, is a remarkable creation by a man with a pure voice. White is not a shouter, not a screamer, but a complete crooner within himself. Two Cities is one of the best albums of the year." John Shelton Ivany, JSI Top 21.
