Austin, TX. (Top40 Charts/ Alyse Black Official Website) - Billboard announced the winners of their 2007 World Song Contest, and Alyse Black took first place in the category of Jazz with her song, 'Stood for Stand for,' from her debut album, 'Too Much & Too Lovely.'

Alyse will perform at the Branson Music Festival, Workshop & Conference along with all 1st place winners from each genre on March 29th, 2008. Alyse will tour the USA with additional festival stops in May, July, and August 2008. Selected locations and dates will be announced shortly.

"Black boldly channels Bjork, Billie, and Bush (Kate, not GW). Best yet, this jazzy, arty, oddball epic also sounds like Alyse Black more than any of her influences," according to Rocktober Magazine. Alyse's music is best classified as indie-pop with significant jazz influences. It has been likened to the music of Fiona Apple, Regina Spektor, Fiest, Inara George, and Norah Jones. Because Alyse's major influences run the gamut from Billie Holiday to Tom Waits, the tracks of "Too Much & Too Lovely" are at once quirky and sultry.
