New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Bibi Bourelly, who reigns as one of today's most talked-about performers and in-demand songwriters, returns to the front line with a new track and video released today, "Writer's Song", via Def Jam Recordings/Universal Music. The track will be included on Bibi's upcoming project, details to be announced in the weeks ahead.

"Writer's Song" is the first new music from Bibi Bourelly since Boy (In Studio) (August 2017), a 4-song EP of live studio recordings that delved into boy/relationships through the prism of Bourelly's life, in and out of the spotlight. With each track, she shared anecdotes and insights. Fans were treated to a preview of the live EP format during Bourelly's summer festival dates at Lollapalooza, Bumbershoot, Osheaga, Austin City Limits, Voodoo, Music Midtown, and other markets.

Bourelly, whose career-defining single "Ego" reached Top 5 on the Spotify Viral 50, and on 12 independent country charts including the U.S. (at #3), Canada (#7), and the UK (#9), was the subject of a memorable page 1 Arts profile in the New York Times in May 2016. She continued to dominate the conversation with her song "Ballin" which charted at #12 in urban radio followed by TV appearances on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, CBS's The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Late Late Show with James Corden, the BET Awards, as well as features in major magazines such as Interview, Elle, Glamour, Billboard, Essence, The Fader, and many more. The video for "Ego", filmed in Berlin, has surpassed over 2 million YouTube views to date and the "Ballin" video has surpassed over 2.4 million YouTube views to date.

Bibi Bourelly's path to Def Jam began in Berlin, where she was born into an artistic family. Her father, prolific jazz and Black Rock Coalition guitarist Jean-Paul Bourelly is of Haitian and American descent; her late mother, of Moroccan descent, was the head of the Art Department at Berlin's House of World Culture. Bibi's decision to immigrate to the U.S. in high school eventually brought her to Los Angeles, where her career took off.

To date, Bibi has written for the likes of Rihanna ("Bitch Better Have My Money," "Higher," "Pose" "Yeah, I Said It"); Mariah Carey ("GTFO"); Selena Gomez ("Camouflage"); Usher & Nas ("Chains," and Usher's follow-ups "Need U" and "Hard II Love"); Nick Brewer ("Talk To Me" featuring Bibi Bourelly; they also co-star together in the video); and others. Most recently, Bibi co-wrote "I Have Questions" with Camila Cabello (on her debut LP, The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving.); and "Accelerate" for Christina Aguilera (on her Liberation album of 2018).

Bibi was first introduced to New York fans in October 2015, when she joined Usher and Nas on "Chains" at the Tidal X marathon benefit concert at Barclays Center in Brooklyn; view their live performance featured later that same night on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! The momentum pressed on in March 2016, when Entertainment Weekly named Bibi one of "The 30 Best Things We Saw At SXSW."

Tastemakers praised Bibi's debut EP Free The Real: Part #1 (May 2016), with "Sally," "Ego," "Riot," "Guitar" (featuring Jean-Paul Bourelly), and "What If." Free The Real: Part #2 (November 2016) was preceded by the summer release of "Perfect" featuring musician-producer Earl St. Clair. In conjunction with the debut of "Perfect" on Colbert, Bibi teamed up with the visionary Sid Lee Collective and German studio Unfun to deliver a celestially inspired online experience that is a nostalgic homage to the original Love Calculator. Three of the songs on August 2017's live EP Boy (In Studio) ("Untitled," "Flowers," and "Poet") were first heard on Free The Real: Part #2.

In between the two EP releases, Bibi headlined the month-long, 19-city North American "Free The Real Tour." She returned in May-June 2017 on the 20-city "Do What I Want Tour" of the U.S. with Lil Uzi Vert. In conjunction with the tour, Bibi once again collaborated with the Sid Lee Collective, for the provocative documentary film, Perfect Night; view it here: https://smarturl.it/PERFECTNIGHT.
