Faircom New York Announces The First Vieilles Charrues Festival In Central Park, #VCNY16!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Vieilles Charrues started in 1992 as a small music festival in the town of Carhaix, Brittany in France with a gathering of only 500 people. Now, it is Europe's largest music festival attracting over 250,000 attendees, 60 world-renowned artists and over 6,000 volunteers annually.

Faircom New York, a fundraising and marketing agency in NYC, is proud to partner with the Vieilles Charrues music festival as it launches its first ever-festival right here in the United States. Join us on October 1st as Vieilles Charrues opens its 25th season with a festival in Central Park, and follow along as the artists prepare for one of the biggest festivals of the year using #VCNY16 on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!

Vieilles Charrues translates to mean "old ploughs". Americans may wonder what this has to do with a music event, but as New Yorkers from the five boroughs might understand thanks to our proud rivalries, the name is actually an inside joke for locals poking fun at a rival festival called Old Ships.

#VCNY16 is the result of a meeting between the festivals' producers and BZH New York, the non-profit organization promoting Brittany in NYC in May 2015. While visiting Central Park, CEO of Vieilles Charrues Jérôme Tréhorel stumbled upon Summer Stage and new he had to open the 25th anniversary of the festival there so Americans could experience the thrill of Vieilles Charrues, right there in Central Park.

In the crowd there promises to be loads of Bretons who have lived in the tri-state region since the 60's and 70's. Many are known to haunt Woodstock! Add to that a predicted substantial portion of the US's 2 million French speakers, it is sure to be extraordinaire.

The New York lineup will feature French musicians Mathieu M. Chedid (pop-rock), The Aveners (house & electro), the Celtic Social Club, inspired by counterparts in Buena Vista and New Orleans, and Krismenn & Alem will perform music from the Brittany region.

To purchase tickets, please visit https://www.vcny16.org/ and join us on October 1st!
