Daft Punk had primarily worked with samples and machines," Quinn added. In fact, award winning engineer/mixer, Mick Guzauski, was quoted in an interview about RAM for 'Sonic Scoop' as saying, "Quinn has a lot of self-built drums and instruments - all that psychedelic stuff you hear in the beginning of the song 'Motherboard' for instance, is actually all percussion. This guy had an amazing sound. We worked with him for three or four days at Conway Recording Studio C which I'd say is 28 feet wide by almost 50 feet long and it was completely filled with his percussion stuff." Mick Guzauski went on to say, "Quinn was incredible." In another interview with 'Sound on Sound' Magazine Guzauski said, "Quinn had home-made drum kits with a unique sound, all sorts of stuff that was made by him and made incredible sounds."
