KRS-One Currently On Tour In London
LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ 6.8.2 Records) His legacy is unparalleled. His influence is monumental. He's the man who said, "Rap is something you do; Hip Hop is something you live" - thought provoking and revolutionary, KRS-One has forged ahead through the evolutionary flux of what once used to be the politically and socially charged era of hip hop and rap by staying true to his roots and focusing on world issues plaguing society. After over two decades of success, KRS-One is reviving the essence of hip hop with his latest release The BDP Album, as he prepares to bring his powerful influence on a European Tour.

This summer, he will be taking his message on a European tour, performing in Germany, Amsterdam, The Netherlands and London to showcase the release of his latest album, the highly anticipated The BDP Album - an album 20 years in the making that commemorates the roots of Hip Hops defining impact on the world.

It was in the early '80s when Hip Hop diversified into a genre that saw the development of complex styles. With its popularity growing into mainstream popularity, Parker soon found himself living at a homeless shelter in the South Bronx as he worked to prove himself as an MC, taking on the stage name KRS-One (Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone). It was during this time that he met youth counsellor Scott "La Rock" Sterling, a man who Parker would collaborate with to form one of the most influential hardcore hip hop groups of the 80s, Boogie Down Productions (BDP).

Now, after two decades, KRS-One has returned with the highly anticipated 14-track album, The BDP Album. Fusing hard-knocking drums, spacey keys and lyrics revolving around KRS-One's 20 plus year legacy, the decline of modern-day rap, Parker has created an album reminiscent of the wistful sounds that defined Hip Hop during BDP's success.

Featuring DJ Kenny Parker as producer and executively produced by Canada's 6.8.2 Records, The BDP Album looks to resurrect the true essence of the fading culture of Hip Hop, steering it away from the auto-tuning and the status of fame and money, and focusing more on the loyalty, love and passion that defined Hip Hop as a movement for a new generation of listeners.
