ABOUT KEVIN KINER
Honored with multiple Emmy and
Annie nominations,
Kevin Kiner is a composer in the film, television, and video game business. In creating music for the old wild west, to a galaxy far, far away, Kevins wide musical range has allowed him to take on such diverse projects as Disneys Star Wars: Rebels AMCs hit series Hell on Wheels, CWs Jane the Virgin, CBSs CSI:Miami, Bond: Golden Eye Cartoon Networks Transformers Robots in Disguise and Star Wars: The Clone Wars
In his work for many of these projects,
Kevin has composed for and conducted many different orchestras, including the London Symphony, numerous LA session orchestras, the 90-piece City of Prague Orchestra, The Budapest Hungarian Philharmonia, and many others. For Star Wars: The Clone Wars, in addition to the orchestra he played multiple ethnic instruments to create a unique sound for each planet in the mythic Star Wars Universe with indigenous ethnic sounds from Asia, the Middle East, Egypt, and South America. Working closely with
George Lucas, Kevins music keeps the legacy of the original series alive with a reimagining of John Williams iconic main title theme.
With Making a Murder,
Kevin played over 50 ethnic instruments sometimes in a very soloistic and exposed manner to give the show a unique and artistic take on the murder mystery. With Star Wars: Rebels,
Kevin has brought the sound of the show closer to the sound of the original Star Wars trilogy. The score is altogether more thematic, and eschews the wall-to-wall scoring style of the prequels for the sparser, drama-driven style exemplified in STAR WARS: A New Hope. In allowing for musical gaps in each episode,
Kevin gives the music more significance and more deftly punctuates the emotion of each scene. In 2014
Kevin also conducted Clone Wars in Concert, with the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra for Playfest in Malaga, Spain.
