Boston, MA (Top40 Charts/ Gorgeous Got a Gun Official Website) - Sonicbids, the website that helps bands discover and book gigs, in partnership with the Universal Pictures' genre-smashing action-comedy Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, today announced that the winner of the Indie Rock vs. the World Battle Royale of the Bands Contest is the music video 'Violent Games' from Gorgeous Got a Gun (GGG). Fans can view the winning music video through Universal's BD-Live portal when enjoying their Scott Pilgrim vs. the World Blu-ray on their web-connected Blu-ray players.

In early 2010, Sonicbids partnered with Universal to launch an online battle of the bands contest, inspired by Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. The contest went viral, and in July 2010 GGG prevailed. In a neck-and-neck showdown with the second place winner, Eleisha Eagle, GGG beat more than 1,000 entrants to win the top prize.
Since online voting determined the winner, GGG rallied all of their fans, family, friends and local media to get the word out. The result was the Grand Prize of a showcase in front of hundreds of new fans at the Scott Pilgrim vs. Comic-Con Experience in San Diego, their winning video being featured on BD-Live, and the opportunity to film a segment called 'Blowin' Up,' that is currently being aired in Journeys stores nationwide.

'We continue to partner with brands like Universal Pictures to give Sonicbids members the opportunity for mass exposure that movies like Scott Pilgrim vs. the World can do for an artist,' said Sonicbids Founder and CEO Panos Panay. 'Gorgeous Got a Gun epitomizes the entrepreneurial nature of independent artists that makes them such great collaborators for contests like this. We were really excited to create this competition with Universal and glad that GGG is seeing such amazing success from their epic win.'

Alternative piano-rock singer/songwriter from Lake Charles, LA, Eleisha Eagle, came in a close second in the competition, with only 21 votes separating her from the winner. Sonicbids and Musician's Friend awarded a terrific second-place package for her video 'Goodbye.' The prize included Audio-Technica vocal, instrument and recording microphone packages, as well as Pearl & Zildjian's shell and hardware packs and classic cymbal pack. All of the top eight finalists were on a Myxer channel throughout the contest, received a copy of Avid's Mbox 2 Pro Factory recording package, and were evaluated by a leading industry judging panel.

About Scott Pilgrim vs. the World:
Fillmmaker Edgar Wright brings Bryan Lee O'Malley's hugely popular graphic novel series to life with gravity-defying action and videogame-inspired graphics. Joining lead actor Michael Cera is one of the coolest ensemble casts ever to share the big screen including Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Live Free or Die Hard), Kieran Culkin (Igby Goes Down), Chris Evans (upcoming Captain America: The First Avenger), Academy Award nominee Anna Kendrick (Twilight series, Up in the Air), Alison Pill (Dan in Real Life), Aubrey Plaza ('Parks and Recreation'), Brandon Routh (Superman), Jason Schwartzman (Funny People), Johnny Simmons (Jennifer's Body), Mark Webber (Broken Flowers), Mae Whitman ('Parenthood') and Ellen Wong ('Runaway'). Scott Pilgrim vs. the World also boasts an awesome soundtrack featuring original music by Beck and performances by Broken Social Scene, Metric and more.

About Gorgeous Got a Gun
Los Angeles rock band Gorgeous Got a Gun (GGG) is not just a band; it's a way of life. GGG represents the synergy of collective ideas, creativity and, most importantly, passion to help better oneself through the journey of life. Lead singer Veronica Torres says, 'Gorgeous Got a Gun is the pursuit of growth. It is playing your music loud. It is your weapon to conquer your world. It is the coming of age. It is young minds. It is old souls. It is self empowerment.' Blending retro and modern rock sounds with hard-hitting dance beats, Gorgeous Got a Gun's 'Violent Games' is the featured music video in the Indie Rock vs. the World contest off their self-titled debut album that was released in October 2009.
