Pharrell Williams, Hans Zimmer Named Oscar Music Supervisors

LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) Pharrell Williams is set to team up with legendary composer Hans Zimmer at Oscars Awards 2012.

Williams has been announced as one of the music consultants for the 84th Academy Awards and, alongside Zimmer, will help oversee the music for the event.

Grammy Award winning Zimmer has composed scores for numerous films, including the Lion King, Gladiator and Rain Man.

Speaking of his role at the 2012 Oscars, set to take place on January 26, Williams said:

"I am honoured to work with my mentor and teacher, Hans Zimmer and I have wanted to collaborate with [producer] Brian Grazer on something for years. I cannot believe I will be joining them and their teams on the most prestigious show of the year, the Academy Awards."
