Razor & Tie Music Publishing Writer Greg Holden's Song "Home" Performed By American Idol Winner Phillip Phillip's Smashes Into Billboard Charts
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Razor & Tie Media) Razor & Tie Music Publishing singer/songwriter Greg Holden celebrates the recording of his song "Home" by American Idol Winner Phillip Phillips. The song was also performed on the season finale of American Idol and this week scored the highest Billboard Digital Song Chart debut at #2 selling over 278,000 according to Nielsen SoundScan. It is the fourth-largest debut of the year trailing Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, Wiz Khalifa and Katy Perry singles. "Home" is the second-best digital sales week ever for any "Idol" contestant, following Kelly Clarkson's 2009 song "My Life Would Suck Without You" when it debuted with 280,000 downloads. The song also ushers in the biggest sales week for any "Idol" winner's coronation single since SoundScan began tracking downloads in 2003. "Home" was co-written by Pulse writer Drew Pearson and was picked by American Idol mentor / Interscope head Jimmy Iovine for Phillip Phillips as his coronation song.

Greg Holden is a Scottish-born, English-raised singer songwriter currently living in New York City. Since moving there three years ago, he has self-released three records, toured the United States supporting indie starlet Ingrid Michaelson on her Sold Out 'Everybody Tour' and toured Europe numerous times. Most recently he celebrated a #1 Single in Holland "The Lost Boy" and followed with a sold out Dutch tour dates on his Spring 2012 tour. The song also raised over $50,000 for Red Cross during Radio 3FM's annual charity campaign, Serious Request. Holden's eagerly awaited second studio album I Don't Believe You was funded almost entirely by his fans after raising $30,000 in one month on Kickstarter.com. Holden's 2011 album, I Don't Believe You, was produced by Tony Berg (Bob Dylan, Weezer, Aimee Mann) and was released digitally in May 2011 debuting at #6 in the UK & US iTunes Singer/Songwriters Charts.

Greg's honest and progressively more opinionated approach to his lyrics, along with his folky yet melodic style, has won him an army of supporters that continue to grow and follow his ventures. His 'Living Room Series' and 'Not My Living Room Series' on YouTube have been viewed more than 2 Million times across the world and all three of his self-released records have been featured in the iTunes 'Best Singer/Songwriters', 'New & Noteworthy' and 'What We're Listening To' categories. Greg has also performed on various news/radio programs across America & Europe and has had his songs featured on major television shows such as ABC's Private Practice, Make It Or Break It, One Tree Hill and The CW's Life Unexpected, as well as the Reese Witherspoon film This Means War.

"Greg Holden is one of the most talented singer-songwriters to have graced our studios at BBC Radio and over the past couple of decades..." - Stephen Foster / BBC Radio
