New York, NY (Top40 Charts) With the upcoming release of the uptempo, groove "Intoxicated Love" (release date June 9, 2023) Smooth Jazz singer Castella will make a bit of history in the Smooth Jazz world. Intoxicated Love was produced by smooth jazz producer Jeff Canady with Castella's vocal-producer and mixer, Grammy Award winner Darryl Swann. Utilizing Dolby Atmos Spatial mixing software at Clearlake Recording Studios in North Hollywood, producer-mixer Darryl Swann mixed in a 360 degree audio-field to further enhance the listening experience for the new single. Having participated in beta testing for the Dolby Atmos technology, this new record that Swann had already created a traditional Stereo mix for was prime for the new technology. The listener will have the option to experience the new single in both Stereo and Spatial formats on most streaming platforms. Spatial music mixing is a burgeoning technology that is rapidly being embraced by mixers and streaming platforms as it offers the listener a new listening experience in contrast to traditional Stereo which is now a 93 years old technology as of 2023.
Castella, has made a big splash in the Smooth Jazz genre emerging in August 2019 with the release of her debut EP Thinking About You. She also released her Sophomore EP Let Me Love You - the EP in January 2022. Intoxicated Love will be Castella's 11th radio release since hitting the airwaves in April 2020. Being the first to venture into the realm of Spatial mixing is a testament to the relentless drive of this focused songwriter and performer.
