When gifted Anthony Crawford was 14, he was already playing Bass with his father Funk/Rock Drummer Hubert (H bomb) Crawford who has played with notable greats like James Brown, Mothers Finest, Mark Farner of the Grandfunk Railroad, The BarKays and also is the brother of Jazz Sax legend Hank Crawford.
Anthony had the prime opportunity to sit in with the Bette Midler Band, he performed at the 2000 National Democratic Convention for Bill Clinton and two years later he appeared in a Burger King commercial with the basketball star, Shaquille O'Neal. The following year, Anthony released his first record entitled "Satisfied".
Take note in 2004, this young, ambitious and outstanding Bassist played with the legendary R&B Billboard chart topping group Shalamar and later with Howard Hewett and Justin Timberlake. For a short time he was under the wing of Jazz Saxophonist Kirk Whalum and together the pair performed a few shows and collaborated to create the music for a movie commentary filmed in South Africa.
Since 2008, Anthony Crawford been actively performing around the world with notable artists such as Karen Briggs, Frank McComb, Jeff Lorber, and has recently released his solo CD titled "Urban Jazz."
