New York, NY (Top40 Charts) he Rubettes, whose number one hit single 'Sugar Baby Love' could recently be heard as accompaniment on the T.V. build up promotion to 'The Great British Bake Off' grand final, have never before released a Christmas themed single, that is until now. Sadly unlike other 'Glam' bands, such as
Slade and Mud, the
Rubettes missed out on the now familiar Christmas phenomena of festive hits of the 70's being played year on year. That's all about to change with 'Plastic Christmas', the 70's Christmas hit the
Rubettes never had. Already an international Hit, albeit originally in French, 'Plastic Christmas' is set to re establish the traditional Christmas party record that for so long has been absent from our airwaves.
Instantly recognisable as the 70's classic 'Ça Plane Pour Moi' by Plastic Bertrand and aptly named 'Plastic Christmas' as tribute to the original Artist. Plastic Bertrand, a good friend of Alan and the
Rubettes having worked together many times on the European circuit, has already approved Alan's new Christmas lyric and the authentic
Rubettes 70's sound that has taken the original melody to a whole new level. 'Plastic Christmas' eludes energetic Christmas Party Fun just as it should be and is set to join its contemporaries year on year.
