SANTA MONICA, CA. (Dr. Dre Fans Website) - A brawl broke out at the taping of the second annual Vibe Music Awards show Monday night, resulting in a man being stabbed. The fight broke out as rapper Snoop Dogg and composer/producer Quincy Jones were about to present the Vibe Legend Award to Dr. Dre. A witness tells the Los Angeles Times that as the presentation began, a man walked up to Dre's table and punched him. According to Los Angeles Times, chaos broke out during the ceremony at a hangar at Santa Monica Airport after rap pioneer Dr. Dre was apparently punched in the face and the Grammy-winning producer/rapper's bodyguards set upon the attacker. Dre had been sitting at a front row table and was being introduced by composer Quincy Jones and rapper Snoop Dogg as the recipient of Vibe magazine's Vibe Legend Award - when a man walked up and punched him. Santa Monica police said one man was stabbed in the chaos that followed. Police summoned reinforcements from neighboring law enforcement agencies to help control the situation. The stabbing victim was identified only as a 26-year-old Los Angeles man. He was reported in stable condition. The ceremony resumed after order was restored. The second annual Vibe Awards presentation was taped for telecast Tuesday night on UPN - rapper LL Cool J and 'America's Next Top Model' host Tyra Banks hosted the show.
