LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ ALCHEMY PR GROUP) Voting for the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll 2012 powered by Trackitdown opens today (Wednesday 27th June) and runs until 29th August. Voting will once again take place through Facebook. All fans need to do is go to https://www.djmag.com/top100 and follow the necessary steps from there.
With over half a million votes received from music fans in over 167 countries, The Top 100 DJs Poll powered by Trackitdown is the biggest music poll of its kind in the world. In 2011,
David Guetta made global headlines when he toppled
Armin Van Buuren from the No.1 spot, Van Buuren having previously held the top position for 4 years. DJ Mag is the world's biggest dance magazine, translated into 10 languages and with more Facebook fans than any other music magazine worldwide. The Top 100 DJs Poll 2012 Awards party will be held in Amsterdam during the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the world's biggest electronic music festival, in October.
The Top 100 DJs Poll powered by Trackitdown is a public vote where voters are given the chance to name their Top 5 favourite DJs in order of preference. It inspires fierce debate all year round with speculation on the world's top spinner, new entries, and biggest climbers, dominating social media and beyond.
The Top 100 DJs Poll powered by Trackitdown began in 1993 as an in-house list put together by the staff in the DJ Mag office. After becoming a public vote in 1997, Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, John Digweed, Tiësto, Paul Van Dyk,
Armin Van Buuren and
David Guetta have each been voted No.1, with Guetta telling DJ Mag last year that scooping the Top 100 DJs crown meant more to him than scoring a No.1 hit record in America. So, who will win in 2012? Will Guetta hold on to the top spot? Might Armin return there, will leading Brits
Above & Beyond take the honours, or will it be one of the new kids on the block like Avicii,
Skrillex or Afrojack?
This year, everyone who votes will get a free Top 100 DJs album from Trackitdown.net. This unique and unprecedented release features unreleased and exclusive contributions from the biggest names in dance music. The album includes DJ friendly tracks and a mix from; UMEK, Sander Van Doorn,
