BURBANK, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Walt Disney Records) - The highly anticipated album release Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus, a two-disc set from Walt Disney Records and Hollywood Records, soared to No 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart in its release week (June 24-July 1), scanning over 325,000 units, according to Nielsen SoundScan. In addition to debuting as the No 1 selling album in the U.S., it is No 1 on the Billboard Children's and Soundtrack charts and shipped over one million units with Platinum certification by the R.I.A.A. expected within 30 days.

Digital sales were strong as well and the CD ranked No 1 on the iTunes Music Store while two new episodes of the series ranked as the top two best-selling TV episodes.

Bob Cavallo, chairman of the Disney Music Group, says, "Miley has a long career ahead of her. When I watched her performance on Good Morning America I was impressed with her confidence and her effervescent delivery."

The pop/rock double CD marks the solo recording debut of 14-year-old singer/songwriter Miley Cyrus, star of Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana," and is the second soundtrack from the hit series for kids, tweens and families. Last fall, the series' first soundtrack, "Hannah Montana," debuted at No 1 on the Billboard Top 200, the first ever TV soundtrack to do so, and scanned over 280,000 units. It is now triple-Platinum with over 3 million units sold worldwide.

Miley Cyrus is the youngest ever recording artist with two No 1 albums in less than a year.

Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus is rolling out worldwide now and is expected to be available in over 45 countries by the end of the year.

Walt Disney Records' Hannah Montana 2 soundtrack features 10 songs from the show's second season performed by Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana. The set also includes Hollywood Records' Meet Miley Cyrus, marking the teen's solo debut. Cyrus co-wrote seven of the songs on her debut CD.

This fall, Cyrus will launch her first North American concert tour, a double bill show where she will be featured as both a solo artist and as Hannah Montana. The 54-date arena tour embarks October 18 in St. Louis with full routing to be announced shortly. Cyrus will donate $1 from each ticket sold to The City of Hope.

"Hannah Montana" is seen on Disney Channels all over the world and on DisneyChannel.com via streaming broadband video. It is also available at the iTunes Music Store. In 2006 and 2007-to-date, it is the No 1 series on basic cable television with kids age 6-14. In 2006, across all television, it was second only to "American Idol" in those key youth demographics. The series is also seen Saturday mornings on the ABC Television Network's 'ABC Kids' programming block.
