For 24 years, the NOIPC had been presented annually. Starting in 2012, NOIPC became a biennial event.

This summer's competition also includes the 36th annual New Orleans Keyboard Festival (NOKF) and the 18th annual New Orleans Piano Institute (NOPI). Since 1981, MASNO has offered a weeklong festival featuring a series of master classes, lectures, and recitals. The educational component of the keyboard festival was enhanced in 1989 with the introduction of the New Orleans International Piano Competition (NOIPC) and further enhanced in 1999 with the establishment of the New Orleans Piano Institute.

Serving again as NOPI Directors are Alan Chow, Northwestern University; Igor Resnianski, Westchester University; and Joni Jensen, Tulane University. Additional NOPI faculty members include Constance Carroll, LSU; Kevin Chance, University of Alabama; Frank Heneghan, Ireland; and Shearon Horton, Austin.

NOPI invites talented local, national and international college and high school students to New Orleans for a week of intensive classical study and performances including individual lessons and master classes with the distinguished NOPI faculty, competition opportunities, and a solo appearance on the Showcase Recital. NOPI master classes and recitals are open to the public at no charge.

Sponsors of the Musical Arts Society of New Orleans and these events include Hall Piano Company, Steinway and Sons, Loyola University, WWNO 89.9, Arts Council New Orleans, Louisiana Division of the Arts, and the Louisiana Jazz and Heritage Foundation.

All events during the week are open to the public. For ticket pricing and further Information visit the MASNO website: https://www.masno.org.
