Acclaimed Violinist Laura Giannini To Perform At Theater West 97
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Greenhouse Ensemble hosts the extraordinary Italian violinist Laura Giannini in "One Night Stand", an evening of art, music and theatre, featuring female artists. Miss Giannini will present works for violin solo by Telemann, J.S.Bach, R.Strauss, Englund, Nickell and Velazquez.

This event is a celebration of love within different forms of art. The violinist's performance will introduce the second of four staged short plays by Theresa Rebeck, as well as lead later into the second half of the evening. Miss Giannini's choice of Violin Solo works for the event is meant to exalt the romantic lyricism of the instrument, along with rarely performed pages of beautiful modern literature. Laura Giannini is originally from Bari-Italy, she has established herself in the New York City classical music scene. She is higly appreciated for her unique way of interpreting music from standard to less known repertoire.

Laura Giannini, Italian violinist, is an accomplished and dedicated performer and music educator. Upon the completion of her conservatory studies in Italy, graduating with highest honors, she was selected by Uto Ughi to join the Youth Orchestra of the Conservatoties of Italy, performing also as a soloist with the Festival Omaggio a Roma. Her instrumental and chamber music training continued after at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, respectively with Felix Ayo, Domenico Nordio and Rocco Filippini. During those years Miss Giannini appeared in chamber music ensembles performing for various Italian musical foundations and as a member of the Petruzzelli Theater's Orchestra. She won several chamber music competitions in duo with piano and attended the Trio the Trieste courses at the prestigious Accademia Chiagiana of Siena.

Miss Giannini, later accepted as a graduate student of the University of the Arts Bremen in Germany, continued her musical training in the studio of Katrin Scholz. She was awarded in the University Competition for piano trio and was part of the Kammerensemble Nordwind, performing with them also a selection of pieces from Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire, which was broadcast live on Deutschland Radio Kultur. Laura Giannini joined then the ensemble Kammer Sinfonie Bremen, and also worked on several projects with members of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.

In 2014 Laura had the opportunity to continue her artistic path in the United States, completing an Artist Diploma in the studio of Daniel Phillips at the ACSM, while working as a freelance musician in New York City. Since then she has been engaged in ensemble projects with numerous NYC-based artists, such as Tito Munoz, Tong Chen, Gregory Singer, Felipe Tristan and Kento Iwasaki, performing, among others, at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Flushing Town Hall and The Secret Theater. Her interest is currently oriented to the discovery of repertoire for violin and guitar, exploring music from around the world and different historical periods, which shares dance traits as its compositional form.
