Miami, Florida (Top40 Charts/ Acoustic Soul Records) Acoustic Soul Records is proud to announce that award-winning and national radio charting acoustic singer-songwriter SJ earned three semi-finalist rankings in the 2013 International Songwriting Competition. With nearly 19,000 entries from over 100 countries, SJ is among the top eight percent of entries that made it to the semi-finals. SJ's original songs "Green as Snow," "It's Alright," and "Let Me Be," are semi-finalists in the Folk Singer-Songwriter, Adult Album Alternative (AAA), and Performance categories respectively.
"It is an honor to be recognized among the top eight percent of entries in this prestigious songwriting competition," said SJ. " The International Songwriting Competition is a great opportunity for independent and established artists to showcase their music and have it judged by talented national acts such as Imagine Dragons, Florida Georgia Line, Jon Secada, Keane, and many others.
This recognition comes on the tail of SJ's past success in the competition. In 2010, SJ won the International Songwriting Competition in the Latin category for "Lo Mejor De Mi," the Spanish interpretation of his top ten charting song "I Like You," which was judged by Alejandro Sans and Chayanne. SJ's soulful raspy vocals, rhythmic guitar work, and profound lyrics have paved his way to earn over 25 independent music awards or nominations since his first releases in 2010.
The list of all semi-finalists is available on the International Songwriting Competition's website - https://www.songwritingcompetition.com/semi-finalists.html. Finalists will be announced on March 3, 2014, and winners notified in April.
