New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Key Media PR) I was talking to myself. Shut the door and come to bed. The first words Denise Marsa sings on Dean Friedman's 1978 classic hit LUCKY STARS.
Some dreams never die - they just get bigger.
Music veteran Denise Marsa knows the meaning of a dream or two, her own and now also those of her clients. Her songs have been featured in film and TV around the world, and several international artists have recorded their versions of her work, including Misako Honjoh and Lisa Moorish.
Marsa got her feet wet in the music business when she appeared as the mystery voice on Dean Friedman's infamous LUCKY STARS, a song that was as far away from her own musical sound at the time as any song could be. After entrusting her career to others for years, she took matters into her own hands and released her debut solo album SELF in 1998 independently.
SELF, by Denise Marsa is one of those spine-tingling albums. Marsa is one of the most talented songwriters I have come across in a long time" - URB Magazine
The release of SELF led to her starting KeyMedia Group, a boutique music and marketing company now based in the New York City metro area, USA. Determined to help support young artists just getting started, Denise now empowers those she works with, helping to guide them both in business and in their own musical development. She mentors and produces artists such as Rachel Millman, currently recording her second album NOW and
Nicole Berke keyboardist, composer and vocalist, who just returned from a four-month overseas residency in Beijing, China and currently in production for her album THIS BRIGHT BEFORE.
However, whilst being busy working with new artists, Denise has not forgotten her own dreams and is currently in the midst of recording her second album release, namely LIVE FOREVER. The recording will feature twelve songs spanning her time living and working in London, Los Angeles, New York and New Jersey. The making of the record in
Santa Fe, New Mexico has been documented for the TV series The
Music Mentor TV, a series that focuses on a behind the scenes look at the music business and serves as an educational and entertaining vehicle for its audience. The most recent episode of the show gives viewers a glimpse of Denise producing, singing and meeting with other creatives as they work on the recording process.
Marsa states, I am very excited about the show as I have not performed on a London stage in years. I would love all the people that have LUCKY STARS in their playlists to enjoy my new music and also to hear the artists that I believe have something to contribute to the musical landscape. That would be truly amazing for those fans to see me in a new light.
