Detroit Symphony Orchestra Awarded $300,000 Grant From The Community Foundation For Southeast Michigan
Detroit, MI (Top40 Charts/ Detroit Symphony Orchestra) The Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) was recently named the recipient of a $300,000 grant from the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan to support the community engagement and audience development activities of the DSO.

In addition, the Community Foundation is sponsoring the Detroit Public Television presentation of the DSO's Sunday, April 10 concert, which, along with a Saturday, April 9 performance, inaugurates the 2011 Spring Season. The concert will be broadcast at 7:30 pm April 10 on WTVS television channel 56 and broadcast live at 3 pm on WRCJ 90.9 FM. Audio and video live stream will also be available on www.dso.org and www.wrcjfm.org

"The Community Foundation values the DSO as one of the nation's foremost symphony orchestras and among the region's great cultural treasures," said Mariam C. Noland, president of the Community Foundation. "We support the DSO's efforts to deepen its relationship with audiences and to build future generation of supporters through thoughtful and creative engagement. The Community Foundation is delighted to participate in the broadcast of this historic free concert and to support similar initiatives that will allow the DSO to touch lives far beyond the concert hall."
