CreArtBox will perform at this new edition of the CreArt Music Series in a concert held at 7:30 pm at Greenwich House of Music, 46 Barrow St, New York, NY 10014, on Friday the 18th of January, 2018. Other dates are March 1st and April 19th.

Directed by Guillermo Laporta and Josefina Urraca. CreArtBox's mission is to engage audiences by presenting high-quality performances of new music written by emerging and established living composers as well as classical music from the 17th century onwards, alongside innovative visual and performance designs (set, light, & projection).

CreArtBox is devoted to presenting new chamber music, working closely with commissioned composers. In this performance, CreArtBox will perform Awave by Guillermo Laporta, which blends years of opera, symphonic and chamber music performances with multimedia sound design and soundtrack composition. And also music for flute and piano by Poulenc, Copland, Meredith Monk, and Telemann and for piano solo by Mompou and Meredith Monk.

Music will interact with theater and poetry with the collaboration of actor Jacopo Rampini, known for The World Wars (2014), Medici: Masters of Florence (2016)), and Brown Nation (2016).

CreArtBox performers will include, flutist Guillermo Laporta, and pianist Josefina Urraca.

Active since 2013, CreArtBox's mission is to engage audiences by presenting high-quality performances of new music written by emerging and established living composers, as well as classical music from the 17th century onwards using innovative visuals and set designs.

Greenwich House started in 1902 when Mary Kingsbury Simkhovitch along with Jacob Riis, Carl Schurz, Felix Adler, and other social reformers came together and incorporated the Greenwich House Settlement. Its mission was to improve the living conditions among the predominantly immigrant population in Greenwich Village, at that time New York's most congested neighborhood.

From its beginning, Greenwich House committed itself to the arts as a dynamic stimulus for cultural enrichment and individual growth. The reputation of Greenwich House's arts curricula has been shaped by its mission and the past and present participation of people such as Eleanor Roosevelt, Mrs. Gertrude Payne Whitney, Daniel Chester French, John Sloan, James Fraser, Guy Pene du Bois, Jackson Pollock, Kirk Douglas, Marion Rous, Leonard Warren, Julius Rudel, Ossip Gabrilowitsch, Henry Cowell, Edgar Varese and Peter Voulkos.
