SAN FRANCISCO, CA (Tower Records Classical Annex) - Keith Thompson will play Holiday favorites of Mulet, Purvis, Bach, Delius and Tchaikovsky on the Skinner
Symphonic Pipe Organ at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor, San Francisco, CA on December 10, 11 and Christmas eve, December 24, 2005, Eugene Dong, an independent music producer, (www.echoesofheaven.com) announced today.
The concerts, at 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday, are free after paid admission to the Museum. The program opens with "Carillon-Sortie," by Henri Mulet, "Greensleeves" arranged by Richard Purvis and "Sheep May Safely Graze" from Cantata No 208 of J. S. Bach, arranged by Virgil Fox. These selections, included in Keith Thompson's "A King's Christmas," CD are available for downloading from Apple iTunes, Napster, Virgin Digital and other digital downloading sites. The first program section concludes with "Sleigh Ride" by Frederick Delius.
Keith Thompson concludes the holiday program with his own original transcriptions of the seasonal favorite, "THE NUTCRACKER SUITE" of Peter I. Tchaikovsky, including, Miniature Overture, March, Dance of the Candy Fairy, Russian Dance, "Trepak," Arab Dance, Dance of the Reed-Flutes, and the Waltz of the Flowers.
