Max Gomez Premieres Video "Make It Me"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Songwriter Max Gomez has shared a video for his new song, "Make It Me". He has also announced the upcoming release of a new EP, Me & Joe, out September 22nd on Brigadoon Records. "Make It Me" is currently streaming at The Bluegrass Situation. Gomez writes, "This song is an important one to me. It tells a tale as common as the hearts we break. In the video we shot... we captured some of the surrounding beauty in and outside of where I live in Taos, New Mexico. We filmed in the dead of winter. We wanted real snow and we got it."

A singer-songwriter in the vein of Jackson Browne and John Prine, Gomez unites beatific melodies with weathered lyrics and a down-home delivery that makes his songs shine with honesty and soul. Jim Scott—who's worked with Johnny Cash, Tom Petty, and Lucinda Williams—produced Gomez's new EP Me & Joe, which features Williams collaborator Doug Pettibone on guitar and Eric Clapton and Jackson Browne accompanist Greg Leisz on pedal steel.

In addition to preparing for his new EP release in September, Max has been instrumental in pulling together the Red River Folk Festival in New Mexico, which will feature Chuck Prophet and Shawn Mullins alongside other notable Americana acts.

Gomez first made waves as a songwriter with his song "Rule the World" from his 2013 album of the same name, acclaimed by USA Today and Esquire who named it as one of the best songs of 2013. Soon after, Kiefer Sutherland directed the music video for the single "Run From You."

Though still only in his twenties, Max Gomez has always had the heart of an old soul. As a child, the first songs he learned to sing were originally recorded in the 50s by Johnny Cash. As a teenage guitarist he adopted Big Bill Broonzy as his blues master. And as a budding performer, he apprenticed in the rarefied musical climate of northern New Mexico, where troubadours like Michael Martin Murphey and Ray Wylie Hubbard helped foster a folk and Western sound both cosmic and cowboy.

Judging by the company he keeps, Gomez is there positioned to emerge as a prominent voice of Americana's next generation. Since the release of his debut album, Rule the World, in 2013, he's shared billing on hundreds of stages with stalwarts of the genre like Shawn Mullins, James McMurtry, Buddy Miller, Jim Lauderdale, Patty Griffin, and John Hiatt.
