New York (Top40 Charts/ Denon Classics) - Multi-Platinum Recording Artist Andre' Rieu has hit No 1 on Billboard Magazine's Traditional Classical Chart with the release of Andre' Rieu's Greatest Hits CD. The album is a unique project consisting of performances chosen by his fans and collected from all of his best selling Denon releases. Rieu, the most successful classical artist in the world, continues on his 2009 North American Tour, with dates remaining in the Northwest and Western regions of the U.S.

"The success of this album is very special to me because it was a compilation of fan favorites - they decided what tracks would be on the record," said Rieu.

Leading music industry magazine Billboard named Andre' Rieu as the Top Classical Selling Artist of 2008 in the United States. He also celebrated three albums in Billboard's 2008 Top Classical Albums chart. As well as record sales, Rieu topped the charts in worldwide touring. Pollstar Magazine named him number eight in the world, with over $77 million in revenue.

Rieu's tours are global extravaganzas, with elaborate sets and unparalleled showmanship. He believes that classical music should be accessible to everyone and engages audiences with his unorthodox approach and radiant atmospheres. His unique approach to classical music has fans swaying in sold-out stadiums; the public embraced by the charismatic virtuoso.

2009 marks Rieu's 30th Anniversary Tour, delighting audiences everywhere he travels. He is widely known in the U.S. for his popular PBS specials where he has earned the distinction of No 1 pledge drive artist.
