Olafur Arnalds Releases Partial And Ypsilon - Max Cooper Remixes, Out Today
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Ólafur Arnalds today releases new versions of partial and ypsilon, remixed by renowned experimental electronic artist Max Cooper. The original versions of the two tracks feature on Ólafur's critically acclaimed album re:member, which is out now on Mercury KX/Universal Music.

In true Max Cooper style, the remix for partial features a prominent heartbeat, which pulses throughout the track alongside an industrial techno undertone. The video is a profound, and sometimes distressing, portrayal of one of the stars of Ólafur's incredibly moving videos for his singles re:member and unfold, which touch on elements of masculinity and how men communicate. The footage for the video was directed by Þóra Hilmarsdóttir and given a visual remix by Árni & Kinski.

The remixes are an ingenious collaboration of two great minds. Max Cooper is a London-based producer, with an impressive catalogue of more than 70 original tracks and remixes, including remixes of Hot Chip, Nils Frahm and Au Revoir Simone.

Ólafur says, "Max Cooper is one of the most exciting artists in electronic music today, the natural complexity of his sounds is a perfect complement for acoustic instruments. I was eager to see what he would do with a couple of my songs."

Hailed as the "superstar of contemporary instrumental music" by the Financial Times, Ólafur is internationally celebrated for his haunting musical style, championing the use of cutting-edge technology in his recordings and live performances. His captivating music combines elements of ambient, classical, electronic, pop and rock.

Having just completed a huge world tour, which took him from London Palladium to Sydney Opera House, Ólafur recently sat in for Iggy Pop on his BBC Radio 6 Music show 'Iggy Confidential' as part of the station's Record Store Day coverage. With many more projects in the pipeline to be announced, 2019 is another exciting year for this groundbreaking composer.
