One line from the song is, "I'll fix her heart, before she knows I'm gone." This line demonstrates what the piece is truly about. It's a song about winning back the heart of a girl who he's hurt. The relationship is at a place where she has not been lost yet. However, he has hurt her enough to make her ready to leave him, but, he is willing to change everything to fix what he has messed up.
He is going very far in order to fix what he has messed up. He is willing to change everything in order to mend her heart. This is demonstrated by another line from the song, "I'll change my name, and I'll change my face." He is willing to change not just small things about himself, but his face evem in order to make her happy again. He is ready to change himself totally so that he can make things right.
This is a song about romance, a broken romance that just needs some effort on his part to be restored to its former self. In the piece he shows just how far he is willing to go in order to mend the relationship. The extremes of changing his name and his face, definitely shows the level of commitment that he has towards her and perhaps it also shows just how bad he messed up. He does not say exactly what he has done in order to cause the turmoil. However it does appear to be bad enough for him to have to go to extremes to win her back. The piece is full because of the amount of conflict as well as because the interesting sound that the music brings to the song.
