Singer/Songwriter Beth White Releases New EP 'Old Strings New Strings'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) UK singer-songwriter Beth White has released her newest EP record, "Old Strings New Strings," to broad critical and fan acclaim. The record is comprised of three new, original tracks for a playing time of approximately 12 minutes. The songs, each written by White herself, showcase her rich, natural voice accompanied by piano, percussion, and various other instrumentation for a full and relaxing sound that is consistently delightful from start to finish.

Beth White's sound is reminiscent of female singer-songwriters such as Natalie Imbruglia or Angie Hart of Frente!. The title of "Old Strings New Strings" bespeaks the romantic themes of her writing, as do the titles of the songs on the EP, "Confession," "Forever With You," and "Wait for You." Her voice is soft, yet bold, her guitar work playful and full of rhythm and groove. The record's strongest attribute is perhaps White's flawless songwriting, however. Her style weaves understated chord progressions into delicate, intuitive patterns. Into these she braids her sweet, clarion, and crystal clear vocals until the sounds are blended into bright and sonorous colors.

Appropriately, in fact, her current stage billing is Beth White and the Colourtones. The Colourtones are David Brown on piano, Laura Whitman on bass guitar, and Chris Ozzard playing cajon, a simple drum made from a wooden box that has its roots in Peruvian music. Their presence on "Old Strings New Strings" adds much raw life to the already warmhearted record, a subtle exuberance that permeates and thrums throughout each tick and measure.

Beth White walked away from her performance in the "Live and Unsigned" competition with a publishing contract for her single, "Boy Next Door," on Live and Unsigned Ltd. and Future Music Management, respectively. Her growing repertoire also includes "O Whoops" on Matchbox Records, a single she published while fronting the four-piece pop-punk band, Sykamore.

Regarding the message her EP may have for her fans, White comments simply, "Relationships have their ups and downs, but it's all worth it in the end."

"Old Strings New Strings" by Beth White is available online everywhere beginning April 14, 2013.
