Teen Lifeline to Honor GRAMMY Nominated Singer-Songwriter, Actress and Philanthropist Jordin Sparks
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Teen Lifeline) Teen Lifeline will honor Grammy nominated singer-songwriter, actress and philanthropist Jordin Sparks with the Alfredo J. Molina Community Lifeline Award at Teen Lifeline's 2014 Connections of Hope event at the Montelucia Resort on November 7, 2014.

The 11th Annual Connections of Hope is a night to celebrate and raise funds for the "connections of hope" found daily by troubled teens that call Teen Lifeline's peer-to-peer hotline, and are reached by its statewide suicide awareness and prevention outreach. An Arizona native, Sparks' philanthropic endeavors have touched the lives of youth locally, nationally and internationally.

Initiated by Sparks and her brother P.J., the "I'm M.A.D. Are You?" campaign cultivates community volunteerism among teens. "The amazing work being done at Teen Lifeline is something that I can really relate to," Sparks said. "Teens helping teens through volunteerism and really making a difference is what our campaign strives to do. I am so passionate about helping kids and teens. I am proud to support this local charity from my home town that is saving lives every day!"

Sparks' infectious energy and passion for life translate to her countless other charitable contributions, including First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move Active Schools Campaign, Save the Music Foundation, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and The Other Side Campaign, among many others.

In 2005, the Community Lifeline Award was named in honor of the inaugural recipient, Alfredo J. Molina, President and CEO of Molina Fine Jewelers, for his service to Arizona youth and our community. "A child dies every 11 days in Arizona by suicide. This tragedy has to stop, because every teen is a precious jewel, and we must do all that we can to allow them to become brilliant," Molina said.

Connections of Hope will be chaired by Stacey Caron, owner of Spellbinders Paper Arts. "I felt like it was serendipity when I was asked to chair this event. I have seen the devastation that happens when a parent loses a child to suicide, and I want to do what I can to help raise awareness and let others know about the amazing work being done at Teen Lifeline."

The event celebrates Arizona youth by highlighting stories and entertainment performed by local area teens. The evening includes a delectable dinner, a live and silent auction, and the opportunity to support Teen Lifeline's mission of erasing teen suicide. Tickets start at $250 per person with benefit-rich packages available.
