New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Warner Bros./Warner Music Nashville recording artist Chris Janson is in the market for some reliable transportation, and it doesn't even need to float.
"Everyone asks if I've gotten a boat," Janson said with a chuckle. "For now we are thrilled to have a bus that runs!"
The problems started when Janson, his wife and kids, band and road crew showed up at Country Fest in Cadott, Wisconsin, in late June. Their bus, however, did not, and they had a performance the next day at Lakes Jam in Brainerd, Minnesota - a not inconsiderable 235 miles away.
With no wheels available, Janson took matters into his own hands, renting a U-Haul truck and a car. With Janson behind the wheel, he, his family, the band and crew moved on to join Toby Keith's Good Times & Pick Up Lines Tour presented by Ford F-series at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Detroit.
Janson has since gotten a new bus and is out on the road playing select solo and festival dates around the Keith tour. The Nashville singer-songwriter's nearly Top 15 hit "Buy Me a Boat" continues to float up the charts and is well on its way to gold certification with more than 360,000 copies sold. He also made his first television appearance on NBC's " Today" and has performed more than 100 times on the Grand Ole Opry.
