New York, NY (Top40 Charts) GRAMMY Award-winning producer and rapper Cam O'bi releases "Grammy's Babies", his first release since solo debut "Tenderheaded". The touching track premieres today on Hypebeast and is the latest single off his forthcoming debut Grown Ass Kid out in 2020. The song crackles with the syncopations that are Cam O'bi's signature—"I hear your voice calling my name every time the wind blows,'' he croons, vivacious flow and velveteen voice front-and-center.

Chicago-based artist Christopher Brown and Cam collaborated to create the entire animated world of GAK. Cam explains the visuals as an isolated neon-hued quest into the soul: "Hidden away in a quiet forest, a deserted old cabin sits alone. Although empty, the cabin stirs quietly inside, breathing the beat of the wilderness in and out through its open doors and windows. Howling winds swing its creaky doors, while the wood floors squeak along to the rhythm of an empty rocking chair. The world outside is dark, its stars forgotten. And the sun has come down to ignite the fireplace for the ghost of an old widow who sits rocking back and forth before the flames, humming this tune...Don't you forget about those fallen stars."

Cam O'bi is poignant, thoughtful and his "production credits read like a highlight reel of recent hits" (Pitchfork). Listen to the songs Cam has put his touch on, a signature sound that "blends gorgeous chord progressions, soothing vocal samples, and big ass drums" (DJBooth): https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0mjH7k7qYmgheJKvAr4ntx?si=3OdCqkJuS1GZs9j4FP92_w

If you've been tuned into rap and R&B's stars of the moment, you've heard Cam O'bi—the ubiquitous producer got his start in the Chicago hip-hop scene and has lent his touch to the likes of Jorja Smith, Vic Mensa, Saba, J.Cole, and others. The main producer behind Chance The Rapper's 2013 debut mixtape Acid Rap, his production (and vocals) can also be heard on Noname's highly-acclaimed Telephone and SZA's Kendrick Lamar-assisted "Doves in the Wind" from her debut CTRL. With Cam O'bi mastering his debut album in time for 2020 and a barrage of new music on the warm this forward-facing artist is setting himself up for a huge year and an even bigger debut after a fruitful career behind-the-scenes. He also has production credits in the J.Cole's recently GRAMMY-nominated Revenge Of The Dreamers III compilation.
