New Noise Magazine share "Daily Battle" today while Cincinnati CityBeat called "Peace of Mine" an "...earthy yet dreamily ethereal gem (sounding a bit like
Tom Petty fronting a smoky, psychedelic
Dream Pop band)."
Their forthcoming debut album is carefully layered, leaning on strong core songwriting, hypnotic synths, lush guitar tones from Curt Kiser (ex-Pomegranates, Enlou), mesmerizing percussion delivered by Bryan Devendorf (The National), and nuanced, dynamic bass lines from John Curley (Afghan Whigs) who also produced and engineered this single.
While Bryan and John don't often accompany the band live, a solid group consisting of Cory Pavlinac (guitar), Trent Becknell (Bass), Alex McGrath (Drums) and Ashley McGrath (Keys) have been gigging regularly and are truly spectacular. Even through they are only getting started they have already been making some noise regionally having shared the stage with
Damien Jurado, Big Thief, Sam Evian, The Dove & The Wolf, Harpooner and more. They just wrapped up an April tour alongside Kyle Craft & Anna Burch and will play MOTR this Saturday May 12th to celebrate their debut release. To celebrate the release, Carriers will play a hometown show at MOTR on Saturday May 12th with support from Turtledoves and Isaac Joel Karns.
