New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Universal Republic Records) Australia's
DJ Havana Brown is lighting up clubs all over the U.S. with her debut single as a solo artist, 'We Run the Night,' featuring Pitbull, which currently reigns #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart, a feat no other Australian artist other than
Kylie Minogue has accomplished. The RedOne-produced single is also taking over U.S. radio airwaves with 12 new adds (and counting) this week, and can already be heard on major Top40 radio stations Z100, KIIS and WKTU.
"I wanted to combine the club and commercial worlds in one song," Brown stated about 'We Run the Night.' "I wanted to make something that I could play in my DJ sets, perform live, and be a radio hit. It was a challenge, as I had to work with people who really understood what's happening simultaneously in the club scene and in pop music. That's why I love working with RedOne, he completely understands me."
This is quite an introduction to the states for the platinum-selling DJ, who is currently in the studio with renown hit-maker RedOne (Nicki Minaj, JLo, Justin Beiber, Lady Gaga) creating her debut album for 2101 Records/Universal Republic Records.
"She is an amazing DJ, singer, and performer," RedOne stated. "She is a compete artist and a full entertainer. We have an amazing album coming out soon and I can't wait for the world to experience
Havana Brown!"
The video for the hit single, directed by Ryan (Pallotta) and Raykay (Britney Spears, Lady GaGa, Justin Bieber, Beyonce), was shot in Miami earlier last month with Brown and Pitbull. The video shows the two intermingled as their auras bring life to the club and Brown behind the DJ decks premiered on VEVO March 7. Check it out HERE.
Having established herself on the Australian DJ scene in 2007, Brown became the first female DJ in Australia to sign a major label record deal. "She's Australia's female answer to
David Guetta!"Z100 recently stated on-air. The stunning, 24-year-old "master mix-tress," whose resume includes manning the decks on tour before major pop presences such as Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Rihanna, Enrique Iglesias,
Chris Brown and Pussycat Dolls, has released six, successful albums from her Crave series, which offer an infectious mix of up-tempo R&B and hip-hop sets, tinged with a touch of electro-house. The latest installment Crave Vol. 6has been certified GOLD in Australia.
