NASHVILLE, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Elk Creek Vineyards) - After promoters re-scheduled his original booking date at Elk Creek Vineyards to accommodate another invitation-to perform for President Obama at the White House- Darius Rucker makes his way to Elk Creek's outdoor stage on Friday, July 17, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. Preferred seating and general admission tickets are still available at www.ticketmaster.com.

Darius' current hit "Alright" is the third single from his "Learn to Live" CD to top Billboard country charts. Two other singles-"Don't Think I Don't Think About It" and "It Won't Be Like This for Long"- reached No. 1.

The 43-year-old vocalist, recognized as "Hootie" from Hootie & the Blowfish, was featured earlier this month in a Country Music Television (CMT) special, "Invitation Only: Darius Rucker." Darius, also a 2009 CMT award nominee, was described by Variety as "a new major starthe [country genre may never be the same." The New York Times reported that "Learn to Live" was "one of 2008's most vibrant country albums." The album debuted at No. 1.

Elk Creek's valley amphitheater, surrounded by abundant vineyards and violet-ginger sunsets, offers natural acoustics and a picture-perfect venue for Darius Rucker and other headliners appearing in the 2009 Outdoor Concert Series. Remaining Concert Series events are: Kentucky Symphony Plays the 1970s-Saturday, August 15, 2009 and The Temptations-Saturday, September 12, 2009. (Please note the date change; The Temptations had previously been scheduled to play at Elk Creek in August.)

Elk Creek Vineyards, nestled among the rolling hills of Kentucky in Owenton, was established in 2003. Located approximately one hour from Lexington, Louisville and Cincinnati and two hours from Indianapolis, Elk Creek offers a wide choice of award-winning wines that are produced and bottled on-site. The destination also features an art gallery, deli and B&B lodging. (Check www.elkcreekvineyards.com for special deli hours on concert days.)
