New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Fans of Damion Murrill have been waiting for the debut of the dynamic worship leader, songwriter and recording artist. The wait is over with the release of the debut of Take A Stand, the first CD from Murrill and his Gospel ensemble, Siloam. Gospel music lovers have been enjoying the project's radio singles, "
Kingdom Come" and "
Don't Let Me Fall", both entering the Gospel charts. On June 9th, the project is available digitally on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and other digital retailers. The physical CD, distributed by New Day Christian Distributors, will be available nationally on July 14th.
The new CD contains one inspiring track after another, flaunting a number of genres including traditional and contemporary Gospel music and some splashes of soul and R&B. Songs like the prayer-focused title tune, "
Take A Stand", which was a highlight at the recent White House Prayer Event on May 2nd and the riveting "Dancing In The Fire", featuring Andre Murrill, have been uplifting believers everywhere. American Idol favorite
George Huff makes a guest appearance on one of the CD's tracks, "
I Believe". "Show Them", an evangelical-themed track showcasing the vocal talents of LeJuene Thompson and the soulful single, "
Don't Let Me Fall", are just a couple of the amazing songs on this 13-track project. Principal songwriter and producer of Take A Stand, Damion Murrill recorded the project at his own Wilmington, NC-based recording studio, Divinity
Music Studios.
In addition to introducing Damion as a new artist, the new CD presents Murrill's singing aggregation, Siloam. Comprised of sixteen gifted vocalists from various regions in North Carolina, Siloam has been singing with Damion for a few years now. The name of the group, which means "sent", comes from the biblical passage in John 9:7 where Jesus told the man who was blind from birth to "Go, wash in the Pool of Siloam". Damion Murrill and Siloam are thrilled about Take A Stand. "It's an awesome feeling to know that after all the hard work, our release day has finally come," says Murrill. "My prayer is that believers are inspired by the songs that God gave me. I believe there is something on this project that will bless everyone."
The group has been crisscrossing the country, singing songs from the new CD. They have been to a variety of markets including Augusta, GA, Atlanta, GA, Knoxville, TN, New Orleans, LA, Pittsburgh, PA, Washington, DC, Louisville, KY and Dallas, TX. The gifted ensemble has been seen on television networks nationwide such as ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, TBN, TCT, Cornerstone TV and a host of others.

Murrill has been ministering through Gospel music all of his life. His musical skills were honed by his mother and his mentor, GRAMMY,
Stellar and Dove Award Winner Donald Lawrence. Taking Damion under his wing, Lawrence has been a huge musical influence on Murrill. They met years ago and connected at denominational events and Gospel music seminars. Prior to Donald becoming the mega-popular Gospel artist, songwriter and producer he is today, he promised Damion's mother, Evangelist J.R. Murrill, that when God exalted him, he would come back and bring the family singing group on board with him. Lawrence stayed true to his word and The Murrills were present on numerous Tri-City Singers and
Donald Lawrence & Company releases. They also received their own accolades, including charting on Billboard and GRAMMY and
Stellar Award nominations. Murrill has the utmost respect for the Gospel star. "It has been an honor to work with Donald Lawrence," says Damion. "He's the teacher who never stops teaching. It's amazing to watch him work. I remember him saying to me, 'Many people write songs, but few write songs that live forever.' I pray I get the opportunity to pen songs that stand the test of time."
As one of six singing siblings, there was never a shortage of music in the household. As the son of two preachers, church was a large part of Damion's life as well. As a youth, he learned to play many instruments and ultimately became a songwriter, producer and choreographer. Currently, the
Minister of
Music of Word Changing Hearts Ministries in Wilmington, NC, Damion has been blessed to work with or share the stage with industry veterans such as Tommy Sims, Kirk Franklin,
Karen Clark Sheard, Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin, PJ
Morton and the late Walter Hawkins. For more information on Damion Murrill and Siloam, visit www.DamionMurrill.com.
