Nashville, TN. (BNA Records) - Multi-platinum selling group Lonestar helped ring in the nation's birthday with a truly memorable performance at the taping of 'An American Celebration at Ford's Theatre: The July 4th Special,' this past Sunday, June 25th. The group performed their No 1 hit 'I'm Already There' as well as their latest single 'Mountains' for the crowd of Washington dignitaries including President George W. Bush and Mrs. Laura Bush.

Following their performance President Bush came on stage and shook hands with all the guys and expressed how much he enjoyed their performance dubbing their latest single 'Mountains' as a great song. This is the second time that Lonestar has performed at this gala which benefits the preservation of the historic Ford Theatre in Washington, DC.

'It was honor to not only be asked back to perform at this benefit but also to perform for the President and the First Lady,' said Lonestar. 'Being a part of this celebration gives us a chance to pay tribute to all those men and women fighting for our country and that's really the least we could do to show our gratitude.'

The one hour ABC Television Special, which was hosted by Tom Selleck, will air Tuesday, July 4th at 10am EST. Other performers included trumpeter Chris Botti, comedian Steve Bridges, Heather Headley, comedian Kevin Nealon, Renee Olstead and Josh Turner.
