Nashville, TN (Top40 Charts/ GForce Music Group) Lucy
Angel is taking the country music world by storm. The mother-daughter trio, who turn heads everywhere they go, are now forcing the music industry at large to turn its collective head. And turn it they have, straight to the charts where the latest single "
Serious" soared to a peak of #30 on the
Music Row Country Break Out Chart and #42 on the Billboard Indicator Chart. For a new act, a move like this is virtually unheard of. For a new act on an independent label (G Force), this just might be a first. And that's just the beginning. After winning over the hearts of program directors across the country with their EP as a teaser Lucy
Angel have also been writing songs and are set to record a full blown "break out" album" in December for a 2012 radio release. The industry is changing and Lucy
Angel is at the forefront of that change. The triple-threat band is proving that with every move they make. Now with a brand new holiday single and video, a reality TV show deal signed and sealed, and a vast network of fans supporting any and everything they do, Lucy
Angel is set to take it to the top.
"Mr. Santa" is Lucy Angel's holiday version of the chart-topping single "Mr. Sandman" written by Pat Ballard and made famous by The Chordettes. It is available on iTunes and all good download sites now. The song has been a staple in The Anderton household for years. Mother Kate, taught the song to daughters,
Lindsay and Emily, as children. Now the girls are gearing up to share it with the world. The track was produced by Nashville producer and songwriter extraordinaire Anthony Smith. Smith also produced the Lucy
Angel EP which featured the 2 smash singles "Only Woman Left" and "
Serious".
The girls are ready to take that success to the next level with the release of "Mr. Santa". The song, which is featured on the 2011 Holiday CDX, captures the essence of Lucy Angel. Sung in three part harmony all the way through, it is sweet and sassy, fun and sultry, and radio is already perking it's ears and adjusting their playlists for some holiday cheer à la Lucy Angel.
The cheer is spreading online as well as over the airwaves. Lucy
Angel was the first act to be featured in Billboard Magazine's new 615 Spotlight (https://www.billboard.com/#/column/the-615/615-spotlight-lucy-angel-has-fame-in-reach-1005460112.story), which highlights standout, up and coming, Country acts. The article advises readers to "remember the name Lucy Angel, and remember that you saw it first. Making it in this business is something of a crapshoot, but the talent and the harmonies are both there!" Not only are the talent and harmonies there but also the passion and drive to succeed. Lucy
Angel may not have a major record label behind them but they have something even better; a loyal army of fans on their social networks who are ready, willing, and able to help the beloved band in any way they can. "We love interacting with the fans and we know we couldn't be doing what we are doing without them," says Kate, "we personally answer every message we get." As an ode and a thank you to the loyal fan base Lucy
Angel didn't go to a major TV network or website to premiere the new video for "Mr. Santa" but straight to their YouTube page (https://www.youtube.com/LucyAngelMusic ). The video, directed by Jake Anderton (Ice Road Truckers, Deadliest Catch), is also out now.
The girls of Lucy
Angel are no strangers to utilizing their YouTube as a catapult to reach a broader audience. Their weekly webisode series "Lucy
Angel On Safari", which features the trials, tribulations, and hilarity of the band's everyday life, grabbed the attention of a Los Angeles based production company. Contracts have since been signed and a sizzle reel shot for a Lucy
Angel reality TV show. "We know, we know, the last thing the world needs is another reality TV show" jokes Lindsay. "But, this one is ours so if you're going to watch just one make it us!" Emily jests. Stay tuned for an official announcement coming soon.
Lucy
Angel is here and as the "
Serious" lyric goes they are giving the industry and music lovers alike "something good they can talk about."
