Masego Releases Ode To Body Positivity "Big Girls"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Masego releases new single "Big Girls," his self-proclaimed ode to body positivity. Kicking off with a slapping bass line, the track fuses electric R&B, reggae beats, and modern hip hop. The Traphousejazz pioneer's soulful voice skirts and skids over a hypnotic beat as he narrates the story of girls that "jiggle it." Listen/ share here: https://smarturl.it/masegobiggirls

Inspired from a recent trip to Kenya, Masego says: "I was in Nairobi, and there was a group of women that were the life on the party—I'm talkin' Lizzo energy. I asked someone who they were, and they told me 'that's the Big Girls Crew.' So I made a song about this party I went to on the great continent and just painted a scene of this cool event, called it the Cake Club, Big Girls get in free."

Fresh off the heels a festival filled Summer playing at Lightning in a Bottle, Pharrell's Something in the Water SolBlume, Lollapalooza & Afropunk Brooklyn, the "young charmer" (LA Times) continues to expand his scope while working in the studio and collaborating with artists like J. Cole, The Game, Santi, Goldlink, Yuna, J.I.D. and others.

Masego's recent NPR Music Tiny Desk session has exceeded 1.7M views and sees him jamming out on his saxophone and running through a selection of his best, from "Tadow" to "Queen Tings." Bringing out an undeniably sensual energy while maintaining a comedic levity in the room, the Jamaican-born musician proves himself a worthy disciple of his guiding inspiration, legendary Cotton Club bandleader Cab Calloway.

It's been a year since the release of Masego's debut album 'Lady Lady' that landed on four separate Billboard charts, #4 on Top New Artist Albums Consumption, #13 on R&B Album Sales, #22 on Heatseekers Albums & #40 on R&B/ Hip Hop Album Sales charts. The 13-song collection featured collaborations with SiR, FKJ, Tiffany Gouche, Kehlani and De'Wayne Jackson. A singular talent in the musical fabric right now, Masego puts an unabashedly sultry-smooth spin on the art he creates.
