New York, NY (SONY BMG MUSIC Entertainment) -
Montgomery Gentry will release a new album, entitled Some People Change, October 17 on Columbia Nashville – their fifth studio album for the label. This album reflects a deeper exploration of the issues Eddie Montgomery & Troy Gentry have always deemed important: family, religion & the US Armed Forces.
The album's title track & first single introduces the theme of having faith in the potential of others and has garnered substantial airplay across the country, becoming the dynamic duo's fastest-rising track at radio ever! The corresponding video, the fourth Montgomery Gentry video directed by Trey Fanjoy (The Wreckers, Miranda Lambert, George Strait), promises to be a cinematic update on the old traveling tent shows – rock & roll country meets Gospel music.
Some People Change not only showcases Montgomery Gentry's growth, the album boasts Eddie & Troy's foray into songwriting, best exemplified by the family-of-man anthem, 'It Takes All Kinds' and 'If You Wanna Keep an Angel,' co-written by Troy Gentry, along with Eddie's contribution to 'A Man's Job' as well as the achingly heartfelt ballad, 'Clouds.' Veteran Mark Wright (Gretchen Wilson, Brooks & Dunn, Los Lonely Boys) co-produced two of the album's 12 tracks with Eddie and Troy and shared production credit with Rivers Rutherford and Jeffrey Steele on the remaining songs.
Montgomery explains, 'Their track record speaks for itself, yet what's most important is that they completely get' us.' Gentry continues, 'Together, we were able to write about our childhood, maturing and reflecting on where we've come from, with ease.'
To support the release, Montgomery Gentry will take to the road on October 12, on a Great American Country (GAC TV)-sponsored tour, which includes ticket giveaways in each city and Montgomery Gentry Tailgate Parties in four select cities.
'Our fans love the live shows as much as we do. When the music hits and the lights come on, they're all the same - rednecking and ready to have a good time,' declares Eddie Montgomery.
