Sam Lewis' New Album Premieres Exclusively On Paste; "Waiting On You" Out 4/21
New York, NY (Top40 Charts ) "Following the trail blazed by guys from Leon Russell to Sturgill Simpson, Sam Lewis applies his soulful voice and poet's heart to a new batch of tunes on his upcoming sophomore effort Waiting On You."
- Folk Alley

"If you're not yet familiar with Nashville singer-songwriter Sam Lewis, that ought to change soon. With a soulful, arresting voice and a bag full of potent, heartfelt tunes, Lewis is certainly bound for wider recognition." - Acoustic Guitar Magazine

"With touches of Bob Dylan laid over a steady strum, Lewis knows how to draw us into his story and leave us breathless." - Guitar World's Acoustic Nation

"The musical offspring of Van Morrison and Fred Eaglesmith." - The Bluegrass Situation

"Waiting On You is a vibrant picture of Lewis' growing skills as a songwriter and a troubadour."
- PopMatters

With his compelling songs, stirring melodies, and preternaturally soulful voice, Sam Lewis has quickly established himself as one of Nashville's most talented new tunesmiths. Comprised of songs that reverberate with earnest emotion and restless energy, rich with the intimate lyricism of folk, country's raw integrity, and a lived-in muscularity born of his captivating vocal timbre, Lewis' sophomore album Waiting On You will be released on April 21st via Brash Music. This 12-track gem reveals Lewis to be an exceptionally gifted troubadour, forthright, genuine, and completely his own. This morning, Paste debuted the full album stream a week before release as an early exclusive calling it "a sound that's clearly been honed by experience."

"There's a tremendous amount of love and understanding in these recordings," Lewis told Paste. "My appreciation for the players and their talents on this album continue to overwhelm me. I couldn't be more excited to officially set these songs free out into the universe."

The follow-up to his self-titled debut, Waiting On You features several generations of Nashville royalty including Kenny Vaughan (Marty Stuart, Lana Del Rey, Ray Lamontagne), guitarist Darrell Scott (Steve Earle, Guy Clark, Robert Plant), harmonica legend Mickey Raphael (Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, Neil Young), guitarist Will Kimbrough (Rodney Crowell), pianist Gabe Dixon (Paul McCartney, Supertramp), and Nashville's favorite vocal group The McCrary Sisters (Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Buddy Miller, Patty Griffin). Lewis united his all-star team at Southern Ground Studios, the site of classic recordings by Kris Kristofferson, Tony Joe White, and Roy Orbison, with producer and roots music maestro Oliver Wood (Tedeschi Trucks Band, Shemekia Copeland, Kathy Mattea) of acclaimed group The Wood Brothers.

As an innovative preview to Waiting On You, Lewis released 12 live unadorned performance videos early last week, one for each song on the record, premiered simultaneously through 12 different outlets. Those involved included Folk Alley, Diffuser, The Boot, Acoustic Guitar Magazine, The Bluegrass Situation, Elmore Magazine, Culture Collide, Guitar World, NKD Magazine, Music Times, PopMatters, and Artist Direct.
