The song sold 96,000 downloads and earned 85.3 million U.S. streams in its first week, marking the second-biggest streaming week ever for a song by a female artist. "
7 Rings" tops the Hot 100 less than three months after "Next" debuted at No. 1 and led for seven total weeks. She becomes the fifth artist with multiple No. 1 debuts, joining
Mariah Carey (three) and Justin Bieber, Drake, and Britney Spears, who have two each.
This is Grande's second song to debut at No. 1, which means that Grande is only the third female artist ever to have multiple songs debut at the top spot (alongside
Britney Spears and Mariah Carey).
