New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Having performed in New York City multiple times over the years as the front man for several notable bands, distinguished jazz vocalist, Steve Washington will step out on the stage of the prestigious Metropolitan Room Jazz Cabaret on Sunday evening June 28th and go it alone as his own artist.
Steve will present a "jazzy mix" of material from the familiar to the unexpected with a delivery that ranges from graceful to bold. The live performance will double as his first New York City CD release show for his recently released second album "Right to Love" and he will debut select pieces from the brand new CD.
A native Washingtonian, Steve has been performing since 1981. Along with his esteemed singing and music career he is a member of Actors' Equity, the exclusive Broadway actor's union, and has performed in many theatrical productions.
Since the 90s, Steve has fronted several of DC's top bands and orchestras sharing the bill with the Marvelettes, the Drifters, the Supremes, and the Village People, just to name a few. And as simply "Steve Washington," or as the namesake of his band "The Steve Washington Project," Steve performs regularly in the DC area's top jazz & blues night spots.
The Metropolitan Room venue seating capacity for this show is only 100 seats.
