Deezer Offers The Complete Browser-Based Music Experience: The "Offline Mode" Is Now Accessible Without A Desktop App
Paris, FRANCE (Top40 Charts/ Deezer Official Website) Deezer has always believed that a good music service must be accessible from any computer without having to download client software. Today at London Web Summit, Deezer releases a new HTML5 service where even the "offline mode" can be accessed directly via a browser. It is currently available on Chrome, and will be on other browsers very soon. The "offline mode" allows Deezer Premium+ subscribers to download their music library to their computers and to access it without even needing to be connected, hence enabling them to enjoy all their music on a plane, the train, the subway…

In 2006, Deezer created its pioneering music streaming service, the first to be 100% accessible via browser. The outstanding customer experience and ease of use enabled by this browser-based access allowed Deezer to reach 20m users in just 2 years.

In 2010/11, Deezer upgraded its service to full HTML5. Supporting open standards allows overall performance improvements, faster website rendering and easier integration of social media features (Facebook, Twitter, Last.fm…), providing an even better user experience.

In 2012, Deezer completed its mission to allow even better reach, by releasing a new HTML5 version of the service which allows users, directly within a browser, to access their favourite tracks, albums and playlists even without an internet connection.

This development firmly reinforces Deezer as a pioneer in the unstoppable global trend from client-based software to browser-based services. It allows optimum reach, faster innovation and greater worldwide scalability. Moreover, it generates a significant advantage for maximising virality especially within Facebook.

This new feature also anticipates the future evolution of all mobile applications towards HTML5, which will streamline the development process for services accessible on every device.

Daniel Marhely, founder of Deezer, quotes:
"When I created Deezer, my initial intuition was to free the music from devices. With the new functionalities of html5, we can actually achieve it. I am really excited to be running a service where innovation can be offered to users every day without having to request them to download a new version. It is no surprise that game developers have understood this and are now moving toward HTML5".
