Santa Clara, CA (Top40 Charts/ GK Communications) SoundHound Inc., the revolutionary sound search company, announced today that the company's music identification technology is serving as a powering force in Casio Computer Co., Ltd.'s newest G-SHOCK Bluetooth watch and its embedded music application called G'MIX App. Users of the new Casio GBA-400 can initiate a SoundHound search on a Bluetooth connected smartphone directly from the watch and have results delivered to both the connected device and the watch face.
"The integration of SoundHound into Casio newest G-SHOCK watch demonstrates again our ability to deliver the best experience in mobile music to users of any connected device, not just smartphones," said Kamyar Mohajer, Vice President of Strategy and Planning at SoundHound Inc. "Whether on a watch or in a car, SoundHound helps meet the music lover's insatiable appetite for music and, together with Casio, we've made it all that much easier for SoundHound fans in Japan to bolster their music discovery libraries."
The G'MIX App gives GBA-400 users access to a music player and the ability to listen to music and control volume. It also allows users to identify music without having to pick up a connected device. With a turn of the rotary dial on the side of the watch, a SoundHound search is started. Full results are delivered to the user's G'MIX App page on their device while title and artist, if in English, are delivered directly to the GBA-400 watch.
"The GBA-400 was designed with music lovers in mind and we could think of no better partner than SoundHound to further enhance the music capability and experience," said Yuichi Masuda, Senior Executive Managing Officer and Director of Casio Computer Co., Ltd.
The Casio GBA-400 with SoundHound integration will be available in Japan beginning September 19th this year. Users will need to download the "G-SHOCK+" and "G'MIX App" mobile applications available for free from the App Store and Google Play.
